Jovita Tanzania EDP

I am delighted to release our new Enterprise Development Programme leaflet. Since its launch in 2012, our Enterprise Development Programme has reached over 12,000 women in 11 countries across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

From supporting women in Lebanon to sustain their businesses through periods of political instability, to increasing the financial literacy skills of women in rural Rwanda, we support women entrepreneurs in developing and emerging economies to achieve their full potential.
Women like Jovita in Tanzania (pictured), who used the skills she gained from our enterprise development training to transform her cleaning products company into a successful enterprise with an international client base.

We recognise that women entrepreneurs face particular barriers to accessing financial services. Research shows, for example, that 70% of women-led small and medium enterprises globally are unserved or underserved financially. That’s why our Enterprise Development Programme tackles this issue head-on – working with both financial institutions, to encourage them to develop products tailored specifically for women, and with women themselves, ensuring that they have the skills and confidence to benefit from these services.

None of our work would be possible without the support of our committed partners who help to fund and implement our enterprise development projects. Together we are equipping women entrepreneurs to become the drivers of growth in communities around the world.
