About the programme
The programme offers a comprehensive package of support that addresses the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East.
Complemented by our mentoring and mobile technology initiatives, the programme facilitates access to networks, training and finance to foster women-led businesses. We focus on women who already own businesses and are struggling to expand or those who have the potential to become successful entrepreneurs but lack the necessary support.
Business support initiatives
Current projects include a business development centre for women in Ramallah, a management degree programme in the Western Galilee, a training of trainers project in Mumbai and business incubation projects in Nablus and Lebanon. See below for a brief video on our project in partnership with Tomorrow's Youth Organisation in Nablus:
Background
A World Bank study identifies lack of access to finance, networks, technology and management skills as key barriers facing women entrepreneurs in setting up and growing their businesses. As result, women's potential remains largely untapped, despite high levels of educational attainment.
Our aim
Working with local partners, our ultimate aim is to create an environment where women in business can become financially independent and have greater control over their own and their children's lives.
