The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in partnership with Google is pleased to announce a new mentoring programme
The Mentoring Women in Business Programme builds capacity, confidence and ultimately capital through virtual mentoring. The e-mentoring platform will create a strong network where successful women and men in business offer one-to-one and group professional support and practical advice to women in developing and transitional and countries.
The pilot
As a first step, the Foundation is testing this exciting new programme with 26 Mentees and 33 Mentors to demonstrate that combining e-mentoring, IT training and peer support helps to unlock the potential of women who want to start or develop their businesses but lack local support. Mentees have been recruited from our partners in Bangladesh, India, Israel and Palestine, adding value to already existing programmes.
Next steps
The Google platform is designed to create a marketplace where Mentors and Mentees exchange ideas, promote their products, develop their skills and overcome isolation. Once the technology is fully tested and best practice is in place, the Foundation will scale up the programme and partner with other organisations to benefit more women entrepreneurs.
